Who we are

Team Gamma is made up of dedicated and driven students from Colegiul Național 'Sfântul Sava', passionate about robotics and technology. Founded in 2016, we compete annually in FIRST Tech Challenge under the guidance of Prof. Constanța Năstase. In the DECODE 2025/2026 season, we placed 6th at the National Championship and qualified for the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas.

Gioconda

World's only simultaneous triple-turret launch system9 design iterations

Gioconda is Gamma's robot for the DECODE season, designed in Fusion 360 with an innovative triple independent rotating turret system that launches simultaneously. The mecanum chassis with 23:11 gear reduction provides omnidirectional mobility at ~10 km/h, and the PedroPathing library ensures precise autonomy via AprilTags. Mass distribution is strategically optimized with a lowered center of gravity.

How it works

Every mechanism is purpose-built for the DECODE game challenge — precision engineered and iteratively refined.

Drivetrain

Mecanum Drive with 4 wheels for precise omnidirectional movement. goBILDA motor configuration adapted for the speed and control required in DECODE 2025/2026. 23:11 gear reduction achieving ~10 km/h top speed.

Rigid intake with central silicon wheels and lateral mecanum wheels, center-guiding and optimized gate opening for rapid collection of game elements with consistent orientation.

Outtake — Triple Turret

Outtake with 3 independent turrets: ±90° rotation, planetary gearbox driven by a central servo, flywheels (goBILDA 6000 RPM) and adjustable hoods for high basket and high chamber scoring.

Endgame / Ascension

Ascension and parking mechanism in the final 20 seconds: enables continued scoring and partial or full parking in the endgame zone for maximum point accumulation.
